This 2005 Hunter 31 is a fractional sloop designed for coastal cruising, with an 11-foot beam, shoal draft of under 4 feet, and headroom over 6 feet throughout. The B&R rig without backstay promotes stability and straightforward handling. A fixed fin keel with weighted bulb and spade rudder complete the steering and directional control. The walk-through reverse transom incorporates an integrated swim platform.
The cockpit emphasizes comfort and usability, featuring a Bimini top added two years ago, folding helm to free up space, stern rail seats, and cushioned seating. Below deck, the layout includes a forward V-berth cabin, aft double cabin, enclosed head with shower, and salon with navigation desk and dual seating areas to port and starboard. The galley contains a single stainless steel sink and icebox; no stove is currently installed.
Sail handling is managed through an in-mast furling Doyle mainsail and 110% roller furling genoa. A Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine at 21 horsepower provides auxiliary power, with approximately 1,155 hours logged. Running rigging was partially replaced in 2024, and three 12-volt batteries were installed that same year. An electric windlass, claw anchor with chain and rode, and a Raymarine Axiom chartplotter (new), Icom VHF radio, and ACR ResQLink PLB round out the equipment.
The boat is usable in its current condition. The A/C is non-functional, the shaft and propeller can be upgraded, and bottom paint is due soon. The transducer requires connection to the chartplotter. Standing rigging dates to 2005.
