2005 Legacy 42

The 2005 Legacy 42 is a fiberglass downeast yacht built for serious cruising. Powered by a single Cummins QSM-11 diesel engine producing 660 horsepower, it cruises at 18.5 knots and features trim tabs for enhanced stability and handling. The boat measures 42 feet in length with a 13.58-foot beam, offering a solid platform for extended time on the water.

The accommodations include a master stateroom with centerline queen berth, a guest cabin with convertible settee-to-full-berth, and an additional single berth in the main salon. The galley is equipped with a 12V/110V refrigerator-freezer, stainless steel double sink, microwave, two-burner electric stove, and an 11-gallon water heater. A Jabsco quiet flush head serves the heads, and the interior features teak and holly sole work throughout.

Electronics are comprehensive and current, featuring Garmin 8612 XSV chart plotter with bottom sounder, Garmin GMI 20 instrument display, Furuno NavNet open array radar, Simrad autopilot, FLIR night vision, ICOM VHF radio, AIS transceiver, and magnetic compass. The electrical system includes 110V/30-amp and 220V/50-amp AC power, 12V DC system, a Northern Lights generator, and a 2000-watt inverter-charger with 80-amp charging capability.

Recent major work completed includes new Cummins engine head and turbo (2023), new stainless steel rudder shoe (2023), new stern thruster (2022), new windlass with updated motor and gearbox (2020), new dripless shaft seal, new batteries, after cooler service, and exterior refinishing with light grey Awl Grip. The boat is also equipped with dual reverse cycle air conditioning, bow and stern thrusters, twin bilge pumps with high water alarm, Rocna stainless plow anchor with 5/16 G4 chain, electric windlass, swim platform, and life raft with current USCG/SOLAS certification.
