This 2005 Mariner 38 Orient is a fiberglass trawler built around a two-cabin, two-head layout with a full-beam master. The single Cummins 6BTA diesel engine produces 220 horsepower and drives the 38-foot hull at cruising displacement speeds. The boat accommodates extended passages and is well-suited to inland and coastal cruising.
A comprehensive refit has addressed systems throughout. Electronics include a Simrad autopilot, Furuno radar, plotter, and VHF radio; a cell booster and Class A AIS transceiver round out the communications suite. A bow thruster aids maneuvering. Fuel capacity totals 300 gallons across twin fiberglass tanks, with 200 gallons of freshwater storage in poly tanks. The 6.5-kilowatt Onan generator has been serviced, and two new 16,000-BTU air-conditioning units with heating capability maintain comfort.
Interior and exterior updates include new upholstery, LED lighting throughout, fresh canvas and bridge cover, and a new hull paint finish. Two custom mattresses have been installed. The deck hardware includes a windlass with 30 feet of chain and 250 feet of rode. A fiberglass swim platform with integral ladder sits at the transom, and a hinged mast accommodates low-bridge passages. Three new batteries support onboard systems, and a fresh-water pump has been replaced. A 50-amp shore power connection is installed.
The boat includes a fiberglass tender equipped with a new 2-horsepower Mercury outboard engine, which has approximately 10 operating hours.
