2005 Sabre 42 Express

This 2005 Sabre 42 Express is a downeast-style hardtop cruiser built on a fiberglass hull measuring 42 feet in length with a 14-foot beam. Twin Yanmar diesel engines produce 1,000 total horsepower, delivering a cruising speed of approximately 22 knots and a maximum speed near 26 knots. The boat is fitted with trim tabs for improved handling and stability.

The interior includes two cabins and one head, with the master stateroom featuring a custom memory foam mattress topper. Accommodations are centered around a saloon and helm area, both equipped with three-zone air conditioning and reverse cycle heating. The galley was upgraded with a new convection microwave and air fryer in 2025. Entertainment systems include three flat-screen televisions, Roku connectivity via a Starlink mini system installed in 2025, and a Sony AM/FM stereo with speakers throughout.

Electronics and mechanical systems have received substantial recent attention. A complete engine service was performed in December 2023 with less than 100 hours of use since. The Simrad navigation suite includes dual NSS-Evo-2 screens with integrated GPS, plotter, radar (upgraded in 2022), and sounder. Additional electronics include Simrad autopilot, Raymarine VHF radio, engine room and rear cameras, and a high-speed Ritchie compass. The Northern Lights 12-kilowatt generator has seen minimal hours since its December 2025 service, which included a new raw water impeller and replacement of the exhaust system with Northern Lights parts in July 2025.

The boat features a side-power bow thruster, a hydraulic Freedom Lift under the swim platform with wireless remote control, and a Muir anchor windlass with 200 feet of chain. Recent upgrades include new bottom paint and fresh zincs in April 2026, a new Bennett trim tab motor and reservoir in June 2025, hull Awlgrip paint applied in 2020, teak decking at the helm, and solar panels on the hardtop with independent charging. A fitted custom aft enclosure provides weather protection, while an aluminum San Juan-style fixed cockpit shade was installed in 2020. Additional amenities include salt and fresh water washdowns fore and aft, side-by-side line racks, a Glendinning Cablemaster shorepower cord reel with remote, and a 3,000-watt Xantrex inverter and charger.
