The Catalina 387 is a 38-foot sailing yacht with a fiberglass hull and masthead rig featuring double spreaders and full batten mainsail. Power comes from a 40-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine. The boat is rigged with an electric windlass for rope and chain, a new Edson Diamond Series pedestal with custom instrument housings, and an electric winch available for the main halyard and mainsheet. A double stainless steel offset anchor roller completes the deck gear. The large cockpit includes nine-foot seats, a walk-through transom with hot water shower, and generous working space.
Below deck, the cabin layout centers on a roomy main saloon with convertible dinette to starboard that serves as either a single berth or settee. A navigation desk accommodates large format charts. The galley is fitted with a three-burner gimbaled stainless steel stove and a top and front loading refrigerator/freezer with commercial-grade hardware. Louvered lockers provide organized storage throughout.
Sleeping accommodations include a long and wide double berth forward with an innerspring mattress and accessible storage, and an aft berth over eight feet long, also with innerspring mattress and storage. The head compartment is divided into two sections with an enclosed stall shower, bi-fold door, and 69 inches of headroom in the cabin areas.
