The Harmony 38 is a 38-foot fiberglass catamaran built in 2006 by Poncin Yachts in France. Constructed with infusion and Kevlar reinforcement, it is powered by a single 40 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine, cruising at 6 knots with a top speed of 7 knots. The boat carries 200 liters of diesel fuel alongside 500 liters of fresh water and 200 liters of rainwater storage capacity.
The accommodation comprises three cabins and one head. The galley features a 200-liter refrigerator and an 80-liter freezer. Power systems include 1100 watts of solar panels paired with 400 amp-hours of lithium-ion house batteries, supplemented by a 2000-watt Victron inverter installed in 2024. Onboard electronics include two Raymarine autopilots, radar, Starlink, and an Iridium Go satellite communicator, all accessible via tablet or smartphone.
The sailing rig includes a mainsail with three automatic reefs, a headsail, gennaker, and staysail, all mounted on furlers with halyards and sheets led back to the cockpit. The cockpit features a hard dodger and Sunbrella winter tent. Ground tackle comprises a 24-kilogram Spade anchor with 100 meters of chain, deployed via a remote-controlled windlass. Deck equipment includes an AB290 Hypalon tender with a Tohatsu 9.8 hp two-stroke engine, complete with covers.
The boat underwent significant upgrades beginning in 2021, including new sails on furlers and updated autopilots. A Coppercoat antifoul system and additional electronics were added in 2023. All portholes and companionway doors are fitted with mosquito nets. Spares and backup systems are carried onboard.
