2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 DS

The 2006 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 DS is a 49-foot cruising sailboat built on a fiberglass hull and powered by a 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine. Designed by Philippe Briand, the boat features the signature Deck Salon concept with teardrop-shaped windows and a performance-oriented hull that balances comfort and seaworthiness. She cruises at approximately 6 knots and reaches a maximum speed of nearly 8 knots.

The yacht offers exceptional flexibility in cabin layout. The standard arrangement includes four cabins and three heads, with the forward cabin featuring a His and Hers head and shower setup. The full-beam aft cabin includes its own ensuite. Alternatively, the boat can be configured as a two or three-cabin vessel, and the saloon dinette converts into a berth for two. This versatility makes the boat suitable for both family cruising and entertaining guests, with capacity for eight sleepers and a 10-person life raft included.

Recent upgrades and maintenance include new 800W solar panels, a new Genoa furler and forestay, new Rocna anchors, a new inverter, new outboard davit, and completely rebuilt electronics with Raymarine Axiom-12 chartplotter and VHS radio. In late 2025, the boat received a new engine water pump, new house water heaters, through-hull replacements, windlass overhaul, and drive shaft service. Fresh AGM house batteries and engine battery were installed in January 2025, with lithium batteries planned for installation. Teak throughout the cockpit and decks was recently replaced, with additional deck teak planned.

The boat is stored out of the water when not in use. Real teak detailing appears throughout the deck and cockpit areas. A 6 hp Mercury outboard, propane barbecue, and solar panel frame are mounted at the stern, with the dinghy stowed forward on deck.
