This 2006 Maxim 380 MK2 catamaran was built by Voyage Yachts in Durban, South Africa, to a design by Alex Simonis. One of the final two hulls produced, it features optimized bridge deck clearance, enhanced galley headroom, and vacuum-bonded Corecell construction. The hull was blasted to original gelcoat, treated with Aquastop, epoxy primed, and copper coated in 2022. Four of six through-hulls have been replaced with new Trudesign composite systems, with two additional units on hand.
Power comes from twin 29-horsepower Yanmar 3YM30 diesel engines with 2,150 hours recorded as of April 2026. The starboard saildrive was replaced in 2015 and the portside in 2023. New Gori three-bladed bronze folding propellers with overdrive were installed in 2023. The catamaran carries 500 liters of fuel and 500 liters of fresh water across dual tanks. The electrical system includes three 100Ah lithium batteries and two 130Ah gel batteries for redundancy, supplemented by four 174-watt and one 550-watt Victron solar panels installed between 2022 and 2025. A Victron 3000VA inverter and 30-amp charger manage power, while a Honda 2000-watt generator provides backup.
The sailing rig features a Sparcraft mast fully refurbished in 2025 with renewed standing rigging installed by G&G Rigging that same year. A new Rutgerson main sail batten-car system, new Lewmar traveller hardware, and upgraded Dynema lifelines were fitted in 2023–2025. The main and genoa sails are battened Vectron CB construction from 2023, supported by a Profurl roller reefer and asymmetrical spinnaker gear. Three Andersen winches and an electric eWincher with dual batteries handle sail handling.
The accommodation comprises three double cabins with latex foam mattresses fitted in 2025, plus a convertible saloon dinette offering six berths plus two additional berths. Two heads service the interior. A 40-liter hot water calorifier boiler installed in 2025 feeds a pressure water system, while a Schenker Zen 30 watermaker with spare pump handles water production. Twin keel-cooled refrigeration units and a 12-volt top-loading freezer provide cooling, complemented by a four-burner stainless steel cooker with oven and grill. Interior and exterior upholstery was renewed in 2023, with saloon seating refreshed in 2023 and cockpit seating in 2024.
Navigation systems center on a Raymarine Axiom 9-inch chart plotter, autopilot, depth/speed/wind transducers, DSC VHF, and HD Wi-Fi radar. A new Garmin SOTDMA Class B+ AIS transce
