The Outbound 44 is a 44-foot offshore cruising sailboat designed by Carl Schumacher. Built on a fiberglass hull with a long waterline and moderate beam, the design balances passage-making capability with seaworthiness. The yacht is powered by a 75 hp Yanmar diesel engine. On deck, the layout supports short-handed sailing with a deep, protected cockpit and winches positioned within reach of the helm. Safety features include an extended stern pulpit, robust handrails and lifelines, and a boom flaking system with integrated lazy-jacks. The Solent rig and triple-reef mainsail handle heavy air conditions.
Below, the interior combines hand-crafted teak with a semi-raised salon that brings in natural light. The main salon holds a six-person dinette to port and a settee to starboard, with a U-shaped galley aft featuring a 3-burner stove with oven, accessible refrigeration, and substantial pantry storage. The forward primary stateroom includes an island queen berth with an en suite head offering both freshwater and seawater flush options and an integral shower.
The aft guest cabin to starboard provides a comfortable double berth with ample storage and natural light. Forward of this cabin is a day head with an electric toilet, freshwater and saltwater flush, and an unusually spacious integral stall shower. A dedicated utility room aft of the navigation station provides workshop space and systems access. The yacht includes a transom boarding platform and is designed throughout with watertight integrity and offshore cruising capability in mind.
