This 2006 Shamrock 270 Mackinaw is a 31-foot pilothouse cruiser built for rugged all-weather operation in coastal and northern waters. The modified-V hull features a prop pocket that minimizes draft and shaft angle, paired with a manganese bronze keel shoe for durability. Powered by a single Yanmar 315 hp diesel engine with fresh water cooling and Seastar hydraulic steering, the boat cruises at 18 knots and reaches top speeds in the high 20s. Bennett recessed trim tabs and a Racor fuel/water separator support efficient, stable running.
The enclosed pilothouse provides weather protection with a starboard helm, solid windows, and a lockable cabin. The galley includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and fresh water sink with a dinette featuring a removable table. A forward V-berth sleeps two adults, and an enclosed head serves the cabin, though headroom is limited.
The open fishing cockpit dominates the aft section with in-deck storage, fish boxes, bait tank, and fish hold. Two Canon downrigger mounts, rod holders, a livewell, and aft-facing bench seating support serious fishing. A transom door and trolling valve complete the setup. Raymarine SmartPilot autopilot, Garmin GPS Map 7612 XSV, and West Marine VHF 585 radio handle navigation and communication.
Fuel capacity is 150 gallons, water 25 gallons, holding tank 15 gallons, and hot water 6 gallons. The Yanmar engine was replaced in 2023 with 50 hours of use, the refrigerator was new in 2023, and the fuel tank was new in 2024. Dual battery banks support 110V shore power.
