2006 Tiara Yachts 2900 Open Classic

The Tiara 2900 Open Classic is a 29-foot fiberglass sportfish powered by twin Crusader engines producing 750 horsepower. The hull incorporates design features for efficient cruising and seaworthiness: prop pockets reduce shaft angles and keep the bow down, ax-head rudders improve handling, and solid-brass engine mounts pass through the stringers for alignment protection. Construction uses vinylester barrier coat, solid-glass bottom, knitted biaxial cloth and Coremat in the hullsides, and end-grain balsa in the decks. Engine room insulation and a side-exhaust muffler system keep noise levels moderate.

The cabin layout centers on two berths. The forward berth is a double with a fold-up drop section. Aft, the dinette's back cushion lifts and secures overhead with a nylon strap, converting the helm station area into a six-foot-four-inch double berth. A curved-door head maximizes interior space. The galley includes a dual-voltage refrigerator, single-burner electric cooktop, and molded sink with pressure freshwater system.

The cockpit features a tilting helm console with a gray fiberglass dash that reduces glare on VDO instrumentation. Back-to-back seating gives clear sightlines through the windshield, which has a thick poly trim band to deflect spray. A walk-through transom door and optional fish wells complete the cockpit. The boat rides on an 11-foot-four-inch beam and includes a one-head layout.
