2007 Africat Marine 420

The Africat 420 is a 42-foot power catamaran built on a solid hull design with proven offshore capability. Twin Volvo IPS 500 pod drives deliver 700 horsepower with low operating hours and recent service work. The boat features three helm stations—cockpit, interior, and full-length flybridge—each with electronic throttle control for responsive handling and ease of maneuvering in tight conditions.

The cabin layout comprises two staterooms and three heads across the twin hulls. The starboard hull holds the owner's suite with an aft king berth and en-suite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. The port hull contains two guest cabins: an aft queen with its own head and a forward queen berth with additional storage and a separate head. This arrangement suits extended cruising or live-aboard use.

Construction relies on solid monolithic fiberglass below the waterline paired with tempered glass salon windows and doors. Stainless steel safety rails and a substantial rubbing strake provide durability. The boat carries a 9kVA Onan generator, watermaker, and a lithium house battery bank supported by solar power. New engine batteries and a robust electrical system support 110V shore power operation. A Highfield RIB with Honda outboard motor is handled by a foredeck-mounted hydraulic crane for convenient tender operations.
