2007 Hanse 400e

The 2007 Hanse 400e is a 40-foot fiberglass racer-cruiser built to German standards using epoxy construction, which delivers a strong yet lightweight hull. The model earned the 2006 European Yacht of the Year award. Powered by a 37 hp Yanjem diesel engine, the boat cruises at 7 knots with a maximum speed of 7.5 knots and handles both spirited sailing and comfortable passage-making.

The interior features two large cabins with a roomy, efficient layout suited for extended cruising or liveaboard living. The master cabin includes a custom mattress and substantial storage throughout. A single head serves the accommodation spaces. The design prioritizes volume and usable living space while maintaining the performance characteristics the model is known for.

Recent maintenance includes standing rigging replacement in 2021, a haul-out in 2025 with oil change and sail drive seal replacement, and fresh bottom paint applied in 2025. B&G electronics were installed in 2021. The boat has been actively sailed, including coastal cruising in British Columbia waters and a single-handed passage to Mexico covering approximately 800 miles without issue.
