The Privilege 495 is a 49-foot catamaran built for serious blue-water cruising. This fiberglass multihull combines spacious accommodations with proven offshore capability, having completed a circumnavigation and cruised extensively across New Zealand, Tahiti, Mexico, and Southeast Asia.
The three-cabin layout centers on a forward master with queen berth spanning the beam, accessible from both port and starboard passages. Two additional cabins provide flexibility for family or crew, while three heads serve the accommodation spaces. The galley features a Force Ten oven and solid surface countertops. The main shower operates as a pressurized system unusual for a boat of this size.
Recent work includes a 2024 refit with new SD60 sail drives, rudder bearings, and watermaker pump and membranes. Solar power comprises 2,000+ watts with three new controllers and custom arch mounting. Interior updates include new blackout shades and cockpit cushions. The tender—a Highfield CL340 with 25 hp Yamaha outboard—is included.
A 2020 restoration addressed the rig comprehensively: new Marechal mast and boom, Dyneema running rigging, Profurl electric furler, and new North 3DI sails. Deck systems include electric windlass, twin Ultra anchors with 260 feet of German stainless chain, new radar, Harken mast winch, VHF and AIS antennas, and Onan Cummins 11.5 kW genset. A single 54 hp Yanmar engine powers the boat for motoring and charging.
