The 2008 Back Cove 33 is a single-cabin downeast cruiser built on a vacuum-bagged, fiberglass hull with a PVC core. The reverse transom and shallow prop pocket are paired with standard bow and stern thrusters. Powered by a single 435-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engine, the boat cruises at 24 knots and reaches a maximum speed of 31 knots.
Below deck, the layout centers on a spacious vee-berth forward, a convertible L-settee in the salon with an inlaid table, and a dedicated head with a separate shower stall to starboard. The helm deck features a full galley aft of the helm position, with a dinette seating four to port and a double mate's seat forward for navigation. Overhead hatches, opening side windows, and a center-opening windshield flood the helm area with light. A leather-covered Stidd helm chair provides ergonomic seating for extended time at the helm.
The cockpit includes a large bench seat for comfortable lounging underway or at anchor. The boat's most distinctive feature is the raising helm deck and port dinette, which provides exceptional access to all mechanical systems for maintenance and inspection.
The hull was recently polished and waxed.
