The 2008 Caliber 47 LRC is a center-cockpit cruising yacht built for serious offshore passagemaking. Hull #24 of 25 produced, she features Caliber's solid fiberglass construction, proven skeg-hung rudder design, and exceptional fuel and water tankage for extended range. A Yanmar 4JH4-TE diesel with approximately 2,330 hours powers the boat, paired with a Northern Lights generator and MaxProp feathering propeller that was overhauled in 2023. The rig carries an in-mast furling mainsail, furling genoa, self-tending staysail, and asymmetrical cruising spinnaker.
The boat has undergone extensive modernization of all major systems. A 600Ah lithium house battery bank with Victron 3kW Quattro inverter/charger and integrated solar control was installed in 2023, along with new air handler units for the A/C systems. Navigation and electronics were updated in 2021 and include dual Garmin 8612xsv chartplotters, HD radar, Simrad autopilot with hydraulic drive, Icom SSB and VHF radios, and AIS. Recent updates through early 2025 include new galley countertops and woodwork, washer and dryer, hull buffing and waxing, a new thruster battery, and upgraded solar panels and stereo equipment.
Accommodations include a Spectra watermaker with recent factory refurbishment, keel-cooled Frigoboat refrigeration and freezer, and Marine Air conditioning systems. Ground tackle consists of a 65 lb Mantus primary anchor with 210 feet of chain, a 45 lb CQR secondary, and a Bruce stern anchor. The boat comes equipped with a Winslow life raft, new 9-foot inflatable dinghy with Mercury 6hp outboard, and an extensive onboard spares package for major systems.
