The 2008 Fountaine Pajot Orana 44 is a 43-foot catamaran designed for extended cruising with a beam of 24 feet and shallow draft of 1.2 meters. Powered by twin Volvo Penta D-40 diesels with saildrive propulsion, she cruises at 5.5 knots and reaches 8 knots at maximum speed. The hull is fiberglass, and engine hours stand at 6,800.
The layout includes four cabins with double berths and four heads. The galley is well-appointed with gas and induction cooking, microwave, two refrigerators with freezers, dishwasher, and washing machine. Air conditioning is installed throughout. The saloon benefits from a comprehensive navigation suite: Raymarine C120 and E90 plotters with radar and AIS, autopilot operable from both helm and saloon, and dual wind, speed, and depth sensors.
Electrical systems are substantial. A 1,900-watt solar array feeds into a 400 Ah lithium and 300 Ah lead-acid battery bank supported by a 3 kW Victron inverter, dual MPPT chargers at 85 amps each, and additional 50 and 60 amp chargers plus two 60 amp DC-DC units from alternators. A Victron shunt monitors power flow. Water capacity is 400 liters with a fresh watermaker; fuel capacity is 400 liters.
Deck equipment includes a main anchor with 100 meters of new chain, full safety gear, and davits for launching the included AB 3.1 RIB tender powered by a Mercury 15 hp four-stroke outboard. A substantial inventory of spare parts and sailing hardware is on board.
