2008 Garcia 65ft Aluminium Centerboard

The Garcia 65 is an aluminum centerboard sloop built in 2008 by the Garcia shipyard, a specialist in blue water cruising yachts. Designed by the Barret-Racoupeau office, this 63-foot yacht combines capable offshore performance with comfortable cruising accommodations. The hull is constructed from Sealium, a high-grade marine aluminum, with a centerboard system that adjusts draft from 1.37 to 4.20 meters. The boat displaces 36,900 kilograms and carries 11,000 kilograms of ballast, plus a 600-kilogram aluminum centerboard with sand ballast.

Below deck, the yacht features three cabins and two heads with showers. The owner's cabin and guest cabin each include private heads, while a third cabin accommodates additional crew or guests. Water tankage totals 2,400 liters across two tanks, fuel capacity is 2,400 liters, and waste storage comprises 100 and 150-liter tanks plus four gray water tanks of 15 liters each. The boat is easily handled by a small crew and cruises at 8 knots under power.

Power comes from a 2023 IVECO FPT N40 diesel engine rated 250 horsepower with approximately 172 running hours, paired with a ZF 45 shaft transmission and a new three-blade folding Gori propeller. An Onan generator provides 13.5 kilowatts of electricity. The rig includes a SPARCRAFT aluminum mast and PETITJEAN carbon boom; new sails were installed in 2020.

A comprehensive 2023 refit covered exterior refinishing with ALEXSEAL premium topcoats, full systems overhaul, new FURUNO navigation electronics with radar and chartplotter, Webasto heating and air conditioning, a watermaker, new refrigeration, a Miele washer-dryer, dual MaxPower retractable thrusters, and complete interior renovation including new materials and fixtures. The boat carries EU flag registration and French VAT documentation.
