2008 Hake / Seaward Seaward 26RK

This 2008 Seaward 26RK is a trailerable cruising sailboat built from fiberglass with a retractable keel system and electric keel control. The boat measures 26 feet in length with an 8-foot-4-inch beam and draws just 6 feet when the keel is fully extended, allowing access to shallow waters and straightforward trailering. A Yanmar 2YM15 diesel inboard engine provides propulsion at approximately 5.5 knots cruising speed, consuming just 0.40 gallons per hour at 2800 rpm.

The cabin accommodates overnight cruising with a spacious V-berth, quarter berth, and an enclosed head with shower. Headroom reaches 5 feet 10 inches throughout. The galley includes sink and icebox with ample counter space, and a 20-gallon potable water tank with hot water heated by engine or electric element. Power comes from two 100-amp-hour AGM batteries and 30-amp shore power, with an 800-watt inverter for onboard power. Navigation is supported by a Raymarine suite including a 7-inch Axiom chartplotter, Evolution wheel autopilot, depth and wind instruments, and an Icom VHF radio with GPS and AIS receive capability.

Sails include a roller-furling 135% genoa, fully battened mainsail with two reef points, riding sail, and cruising spinnaker. Cockpit controls feature Anderson self-tailing winches, triple Spinlock clutches, and a Harken traveler car. A complete wraparound canvas enclosure with bimini, dodger, and custom shade panels transforms the cockpit into weather protection. Standing and running rigging were replaced in 2021, with recent 2025 updates to the Harken roller furler, helm winch controls, and spinlock clutches.

Engine service includes a rebuilt raw water pump and new cutlass bearing, dripless shaft seal, and motor mounts completed in 2025. The keel was rebuilt in 2024 with Dyneema winch line replaced in 2025. Bottom paint is current as of 2025. A dual-axle trailer with electric brakes is included, featuring LED lighting, guide posts, and axles renewed in 2021.
