The 2008 Marlow-Hunter 170 is a 17-foot trailerable sailing yacht built with the patented ACP process, which bonds UV-protected plastic with fiberglass mat and injected foam. This construction makes the hull five times more impact resistant than conventional builds, unsinkable, and requires minimal maintenance. The boat comfortably seats six sailors and features a spacious open cockpit and a covered storage locker forward to keep gear protected from the elements.
The 170 is designed for easy launching and retrieval, with a towing weight of just 760 pounds—light enough for smaller tow vehicles. The hinged mast rises to 25 feet 6 inches above the waterline and raises quickly and simply. A retractable centerboard and kick-up rudder allow shallow-water operation and beaching. The rigging is straightforward, making the boat intuitive to sail.
Sails include a North Sails mainsail with one reef and a North Sails roller-furling jib on a Harken furling unit. The mainsheet and boom vang are both rigged 4:1 for easy handling. The fiberglass rudder features an extension and tiller lock for secure steering.
The boat comes equipped with a 2006 galvanized Load Rite trailer fitted with a jack, winch, spare tire, and mast carrier. A 1 7/8-inch ball hitch is included. Dual-access storage compartments sit beneath the bow. The boat requires no work and is ready to sail.
