This 2009 Catana 65 is a fiberglass catamaran spanning 65 feet in length with a 30-foot beam. Twin 300-horsepower Volvo Penta diesel engines power the yacht to a cruising speed of approximately 7.8 knots, with a maximum speed around 12 knots. The boat features five cabins and four heads across its accommodations.
The yacht was extensively refitted in 2017, including replacement of the engines, generator, standing rigging, dinghy, and outboard. The interior was reimagined with light teak-holly flooring, real wood veneer finishes, brushed aluminum trim, Corian, and leather appointments. The starboard owner's hull was modified to create a dedicated master cabin with walk-in closet, while a large ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower was built forward on the same side. A crew cabin with air conditioning was later added to the port forepeak to accommodate additional crew on extended passages.
The sailing platform is outfitted with a LORIMA carbon mast and carbon fiber forward cross-beam assembly to minimize weight aloft. The rig includes a full complement of sails: a 135-square-meter mainsail, self-tacking solent, large genoa/screecher, and asymmetric spinnaker, all managed by six electric winches. Fuel tanks were repositioned aft to the cockpit lockers to further reduce weight forward. The yacht uses straight propeller shafts fitted through skegs rather than sail-drives, protecting the propulsion system from floating debris.
The boat can accommodate up to nine guests across three double cabins, a skipper's cabin with ensuite, and a dedicated crew forepeak. Recent cruising history includes completion of the 2019 ARC, passage through Panama, and sailing to the Galápagos, Marquesas, Hawaii, and California.
