This 2009 Fountaine Pajot Cumberland 46 is a fiberglass catamaran powered by twin Volvo Penta D4-320 diesel engines totaling 640 horsepower, installed in December 2022 with approximately 1,875 hours of running time. The repower included new transmissions, fly-by-wire controls, and modern engine electronics. The yacht cruises at 8 knots and reaches 21 knots at top speed, with owners reporting 2.6 mpg fuel efficiency. A complete Volvo service was recently completed.
The electrical system is configured for extended cruising independence: a 26 kilowatt-hour lithium house bank paired with a 2,600-watt solar array, two 5-kilowatt Victron inverter-chargers, high-output alternators, and a Victron Cerbo power management interface. Ground tackle includes a new windlass with 250 feet of 3/8-inch chain and a 100-pound Mantus anchor with bridle, all added in 2025. Additional systems include a custom heavy-duty bimini installed in 2023, a new Garmin forward-looking sonar added in 2026, and an ePropulsion electric outboard dinghy motor.
Accommodations comprise three cabins and three heads. The port hull holds the owner's suite with private head, while the starboard hull contains two guest staterooms and two additional heads. The main saloon features a lower helm station, galley on the port side, and starboard dinette with strong natural light and ventilation throughout.
The hull was freshly painted in 2025. The boat draws on proven cruising experience, having completed the Great Loop, transited the full Erie Canal, and cruised the Great Lakes and New England waters. Vertical clearance measures 20 feet with the tower fully extended, 16 feet with the tower dropped, and 14 feet with the bimini also dropped.
