The 2019 Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 is a 46-foot fiberglass catamaran powered by twin Volvo diesel engines of 120 horsepower each. Built as the Quintet layout model, she offers five cabins and five private heads—a flexible design that suits extended cruising, multiple guests, or charter use. The boat has been privately owned and consistently upgraded with systems and equipment focused on reliability and self-sufficiency, including a Victron lithium battery bank installed in 2024, 1200W solar array, 65-liter-per-hour watermaker, and 13.5kW generator.
The saloon is bright and open to the cockpit, while the raised helm station provides excellent sightlines and suits short-handed operation. The cockpit is spacious and well-equipped with powered winches, electric windlass, and a hydraulic dinghy platform. Sails include a 75-square-meter mainsail, 52-square-meter genoa with electric furler, and a 146-square-meter asymmetric gennaker. Navigation and communication are supported by a full Garmin suite—chartplotter, autopilot, AIS, radar, and instruments—plus VHF and SSB radios with Pactor modem.
Systems throughout reflect careful upgrades: a 3kW Victron inverter-charger replaced in 2024, galvanic isolator, water heater, and cockpit refrigeration. Deck equipment includes a Mantus 85 anchor, electric windlass with helm counter, additional grab rails, and bowsprit. The tender is a Highfield 360 with 15hp Yamaha outboard. Safety gear includes a six-person liferaft certified new in 2023, EPIRB, PLB, and tethered lifejackets.
