The 2009 Hunter 50 Center Cockpit is a fiberglass cruising sailboat built on a Glen Henderson hull design. The boat features hand-laid fiberglass reinforced with Kevlar in the bow and forward keel for added protection. Below the waterline the hull is solid fiberglass, while above it uses end-grain balsa coring. The deck is also balsa-cored fiberglass with hull-to-deck joints bolted through every eight inches. The rig is a B&R system with swept-back spreaders and aluminum spars, paired with a Yanmar 110 hp diesel engine.
The main sail was replaced in 2022, and the inner jib is new from 2023. The 125% full jib received service in 2025. All running rigging was replaced in 2023, though standing rigging remains original. The cockpit includes a bimini with dodger and enclosure added in 2022, along with new cushions from 2023. Four Raymarine multi-function displays are integrated throughout—two on the console and two above the hatch—with GPS, radar, and autopilot. A Raymarine stereo system, compass, and Starlink Marine (2024) round out the electronics.
Below deck, accommodations feature cherry wood joinery with Corian countertops and white oyster leather upholstery. Two heads serve the layout. Climate control includes a forward 1,200 BTU AC unit (new 2025), a saloon 1,600 BTU unit (new 2025), and an aft 12,000 BTU AC. A Whisper 11 diesel generator with Mastervolt charging powers an 11-gallon water heater and Magnum Energy inverter-charger. House and starter batteries were replaced in 2023. The refrigerator was replaced in 2018; a new freezer-refrigerator was installed in 2025. A Survitec four-person life raft dates from 2022.
The boat received a new bottom with barrier coat and Interlux Micron paint in 2022, with window resealing completed that same year. The engine shows 1,100 hours. Twin Lewmar electric winches (54s and 46s) handle sail trim, and the stainless steel arch carries a bow thruster for maneuvering.
