This 2009 Northern Bay 36 is a custom downeast sportfish built on a 2003 hull and finished by renowned craftsman Jeff Sullivan. Powered by a 715 hp Volvo Penta diesel engine with approximately 1,500 hours, the boat combines classic downeast design with high-performance capability and modern equipment. The hull is fiberglass, 36 feet long with a 12.67-foot beam, and carries 480 gallons of fuel in saddle tanks beneath the cockpit.
The boat is heavily equipped for serious fishing and weekend cruising. The high cockpit features large insulated fish holds, a tuna door, three fish boxes with macerators, a livewell, and hydraulic hauler with slide-out stainless davit. A tackle station includes a sink and shower. Four steering stations—including a poling station aft—give multiple command positions. A green stick rig with outriggers is included, along with under-gunwale storage for rods and fishing gear.
Below deck, accommodations include a 6-foot memory foam V-berth with air conditioning, two upper bunks, and full galley and head facilities. A 40-gallon fresh water tank, 40-gallon black water tank, 6-gallon water heater, and Dometic refrigeration support extended cruising. A new Northern Lights generator has seen only one hour of use. Climate control is managed by a 16,000 BTU Dometic reverse cycle air conditioning unit.
Electronics and systems are comprehensive: dual 15-inch VEI chart plotters at the helm, Furuno radar, side scan sonar, two Standard Horizon VHF radios, FLIR night vision, and a Kenwood stereo with satellite radio. A new Evolution shaft and drive, MUIR windlass with galvanized delta anchor, and multiple battery banks with three-phase chargers complete the package. Shore power connections and all onboard systems support extended time away from the dock.
