2010 Archambault A40 RC

The Archambault A40 RC is a 2010 high-performance sailing yacht designed by Joubert-Nivelt and built with a vacuum-infused PVC sandwich hull and deck. At 39 feet with a 12-foot beam, she combines light weight and stiff construction with responsive handling, powered by a 29 hp Yanmar 3YM30 saildrive engine. Twin carbon wheels, a fin keel with spade rudder, and new rudder bearings deliver precise steering. The boat carries an IRC rating of approximately 1.083 and is equally suited to competitive racing or fast offshore passage-making.

The rig is fully carbon—mast, boom, and spinnaker pole—with a retractable carbon bowsprit, rod standing rigging, and new Tuff Luff foil. Hydraulic backstay with dual remote controls and a refined deck layout featuring Harken, Spinlock, and Lewmar hardware support both symmetric and asymmetric spinnaker sailing. The extensive sail inventory includes multiple carbon racing headsails, a North NPL Tour Xi mainsail, delivery main, trysail, storm sails, and a range of downwind options including Code 0 and drifters.

Below decks are three double cabins plus saloon and aft pipe berths for crew or cruising comfort. The galley includes an ENO two-burner stove with oven, refrigeration, and pressurised hot and cold water. Electric heads, a hot water system with engine heat exchanger and immersion heater, and generous tankage provide practicality for extended voyages. Electrical systems include Mastervolt charging, Xantrex inverter, upgraded alternator, solar trickle charging, and shore power.

Navigation and safety systems are comprehensive: Garmin and B&G chartplotters, B&G H5000 instruments, AIS, autopilot with Bluetooth remote, VHF, SSB radio, and full safety gear compliant with Singapore registration. Ground tackle includes a new Lewmar electric anchor windlass with Fortress anchor, chain, and warp. Recent maintenance includes new Coppercoat antifouling, repainted boot stripe and carbon spars, new engine service, and new canvas and covers.
