This 22-foot custom pocket tugboat began life as a lifeboat and was comprehensively rebuilt around 2010. The steel hull carries no rust and features a traditional double-ended design that tracks smoothly without excessive steering input. A Northern White Cedar cabin with foam core and cedar railings sits atop the hull, fitted with safety glass windows and furnished with upholstery in sound condition. The boat includes a full cabin and deck rain cover for weather protection.
Power comes from a professionally rebuilt Universal 12-volt gasoline engine rated at 25 horsepower, running at low hours and delivering fuel-efficient operation. The boat cruises at 6 knots and reaches 8 knots at full speed. All systems run on 12-volt power. The steel non-skid deck is supported by a 2-inch iron keel that extends from amidships forward to three inches aft of the rudder, offering excellent protection for the hull and shrouded propeller. Shallow draft of just 22 inches makes the boat suitable for protected waters and shallow anchorages.
Equipment includes four search and docking lights, a very clean bilge, and an engine and boat manual. A custom-built steel trailer fitted with lights, fresh tires, and brakes is included. The trailer's telescoping tongue simplifies launching at standard boat ramps, and the lightweight boat trailers well overall. The boat draws minimal maintenance, and all systems are in working order.
