The 2010 Lagoon 400 is a 40-foot catamaran built to handle extended ocean passages. Twin Yanmar 3JH5E diesel engines, each with approximately 3,500 hours, power the boat to a cruising speed of 6 knots and maximum speed of 8 knots. The fiberglass hull and beam of nearly 24 feet provide the stability and volume characteristic of the platform.
Three cabins and three heads accommodate cruising families, with custom extra-wide beds in every cabin and additional custom bunk berths where needed. The boat is extensively equipped for self-sufficient voyaging: a 12-volt watermaker produces 15 gallons per hour, three Dometic Cruiseair air conditioning units cool the interior, and a washing machine is installed. Power management includes two house battery banks totaling 1,230 amp-hours—690 from starboard-side lithium banks and 540 from port-side AGM batteries—supported by a 7-kilowatt Onan generator with 1,181 hours, 1,350 watts of solar panels, and dual inverters for flexible electrical distribution.
Additional systems include custom stainless steel railings around the entire boat, a complete enclosure for the aft cockpit and helm, and a Victron power management architecture. The boat comes with a dinghy equipped with a 25-horsepower outboard motor purchased in 2023. Extensive spare parts and cruising gear are included.
