The 2008 Leopard 40 is a fiberglass catamaran built for speed and ease of handling. Twin 58-horsepower Yanmar diesel engines deliver a cruising speed of 6 knots and a maximum speed of 8 knots. At nearly 40 feet in length with a 22-foot beam, the hull provides the stability and space characteristic of the Leopard design.
The layout centers on a galley-up configuration with a spacious saloon and aft-facing galley featuring a cocktail bar and serving window that overlooks the large cockpit. An outside dining area sits beneath a protective hard-top bimini. Three cabins and two heads with separate shower stalls accommodate extended cruising. Optional berths in the forepeaks add flexibility for additional sleeping space.
Recent maintenance in August 2025 included new batteries, replaced belts and water pump on the port engine, and new motor mounts on the starboard side. The starboard engine was replaced in 2022 along with the water manifold, starter, wiring harness, water pump, pulleys, belts, and zincs. The port-side motor received a new lower unit in 2022 and was fully replaced in 2016. Bottom paint with premium paint was applied in 2022. A new 200-foot anchor chain, windlass, and Mantus anchor were installed in 2021, along with new rigging, front trampoline, refiberglassed stanchions, and scuba tank holders.
A 2019 Mercury 350 RIB with 25-horsepower engine and under 8 hours of use is included. The owner has also included spare engine components, new bridle and main halyard, snorkeling gear, life jackets, diving fins, and fishing equipment.
