This 2010 Morrelli & Melvin 65 is a performance cruising catamaran built for speed and global range. With a carbon composite hull, wave-piercing reverse bows, and high bridgedeck clearance, the design minimizes weight and pitching while delivering a maximum speed exceeding 30 knots. Two Yanmar 55 hp diesel engines with shaft drive and retractable daggerboards provide efficient propulsion and responsive handling across a range of conditions.
Below deck, the cat accommodates four double staterooms in the hulls, each with ensuite head, shower, and custom carbon fiber electric toilet. A crew cabin with pipe bunks occupies the port bow, while the starboard bow houses a workshop. The main salon features a forward dinette and aft settee, with a well-equipped galley to starboard offering twin refrigerators, deep freezers, Force 10 stove, and bar seating. Navigation is centered at an elevated starboard steering station.
The yacht carries a comprehensive sail plan by North Sails—main, solent, reacher, staysail, asymmetric spinnaker, and storm sail—all managed by electric Harken winches. Carbon boom and mast by Marström, with composite rigging by ECsix, underwent standing rigging load testing and X-ray inspection in 2023. Power comes from dual 200 Ah lithium battery banks with solar charging, a Volvo diesel generator, and a Newport 1000c watermaker. Electronics include NKE sailing instruments with true wind data, Furuno Navnet radar, autopilot, and Starlink connectivity.
Recent upgrades completed in 2023–2025 include new daggerboards, shafts, hull paint, exterior upholstery, generator, and a new Zodiac tender with 50 hp Yamaha. Engine hours stand at approximately 4,300–4,400 on each main engine as of early 2026. A comprehensive lightning protection system, installed at build and proven effective after a 2019 strike, remains in place.
