2010 Najad 511

The Najad 511 is a 51-foot fiberglass cruising yacht built to MCA Category 0 standards for unrestricted ocean sailing. Powered by a Yanmar diesel engine, she is designed and equipped for extended blue-water voyaging. The boat incorporates numerous systems optimized for small-crew operation, including electric in-mast furling, electric headsail furlers, hydraulic boom vang and backstay controls, and five electric winches for efficient sail handling.

The accommodation plan provides three cabins with six berths total: an owner's aft cabin with ensuite head and shower, two guest cabins forward, a galley with longitudinal layout, a dedicated navigation station, and a spacious saloon. The cockpit features a sprayhood, bimini, and tent for weather protection, with a davit system for launching the tender.

The yacht carries substantial systems for self-sufficient cruising. Power comes from 900Ah lithium batteries at 24V and 400W solar panels. Communication equipment includes Starlink and Iridium systems. A windvane steering system provides redundancy, while the windlass, anchor chain, and through-hull fittings have all been renewed or upgraded within the last two years. The standing rigging was replaced in 2016, and the main, genua, and jib sails are North Sails 3Di Endurance design from 2017. Recent work includes an extensive engine service in 2025, an upgraded bow thruster with progressive steering, electric freshwater toilets, and a grey water tank system.
