2011 Dazcat 1195

The 2011 Dazcat 1195 is a high-performance catamaran designed and built by the Multihull Centre in Cornwall. Only five of this model were ever constructed, making it exceptionally rare. Built around advanced composite materials and carbon fibre, the 1195 combines speed with cruising comfort. The design has proven capable in both competitive racing—notably in the Fastnet Race—and extended offshore passages, including runs to the Canaries and Azores. Light construction and powerful rig allow the boat to sail efficiently in moderate winds, while the deck layout supports single-handed operation with all controls within easy reach.

The hull features daggerboards, allowing the catamaran to perform well to windward, an advantage uncommon in multihull designs. The 1195 is easily reefed and remains controllable in building conditions. Two Nanni diesel engines provide power when motoring is preferred. At 39 feet in length with a 21-foot beam, the boat offers the stability and interior visibility typical of quality catamarans, along with substantial deck space.

The accommodation includes three cabins and one head, configured to support extended family cruising. The interior was fitted out with comfortable cruising in mind. The boat has been extensively cruised around the Solent, South Coast, and English Channel. Over recent winters, it returned to the Multihull Centre for significant works. A new copper coat was professionally applied in 2025.
