The 2011 Fountaine Pajot Salina 48 Evolution Maestro is a composite catamaran designed for serious offshore cruising. At 48 feet with a 25-foot beam, this twin-hulled yacht is powered by two Volvo Penta D2-55 diesel engines with sail drives, delivering a cruising speed of 8 knots and a maximum speed of 9 knots. The engines had logged 1,300 hours on the port side and 1,100 hours on the starboard side as of the last service in February 2024.
The three-cabin layout offers flexible accommodation with a full master suite occupying the starboard hull, complemented by two additional cabins and three full heads. The galley features a Miele steam/convection oven, three-burner gas cooktop, four-drawer freezer, and full-size refrigeration. The boat carries 480 liters of fuel and 700 liters of fresh water, with a 180-liter-per-hour watermaker for extended cruising.
The sail plan comprises a fractional sloop rig with a 131-square-meter square-top mainsail, 56.5-square-meter genoa with furler, and a Code 0 on the bowsprit. Standing rigging was replaced in 2019 and serviced in 2024, with sheets and halyards updated in 2023. A suite of Garmin electronics includes dual chartplotters, autopilot, radar, AIS, and VHF systems. Power systems include a 13.5 kVA generator, seven 165-watt solar panels, four 200Ah AGM house batteries, and a Victron 3000-watt inverter/charger.
The boat underwent major refits in 2021 and continued upgrades through 2024, including new sails, rigging, and electronics. Additional features encompass a Highfield Classic 340 tender with a 25-horsepower Yamaha outboard, air conditioning and heating systems, dive compressor, watermaker, and comprehensive safety equipment including a six-person life raft and EPIRB.
