The 2015 Leopard 48 is a fiberglass catamaran built for cruising comfort and efficiency. At 48 feet with a 25-foot beam, she offers the broad platform that makes catamarans popular for extended voyages. Two Yanmar diesel engines rated at 114 horsepower each provide reliable propulsion, supported by a Northern Lights generator for onboard power. The hull wrap was recently removed, exposing original gelcoat underneath.
The interior layout features four cabins and four heads, suitable for families or small groups exploring coastal waters. Accommodations include a Spectra water maker, ice maker, and fresh water heads. A 3,000-watt inverter-charger system supports 12-volt demands, while 840 watts of solar panels contribute to energy independence. Navigation and communication systems are comprehensive: a Raymarine electronics package with i70 color display, dual VHF stations, AIS, autopilot with remote controller, and digital radar.
Recent maintenance reflects thorough preparation. New bottom paint, propellers, anchor chain, and underwater lights were completed in 2025. The saildrives received new housings, cap shrouds were replaced, and port and starboard main engine heat exchangers were installed in 2026. Yanmar engines have logged 3,750 hours and received oil service in 2025. Windows were renewed and re-bedded, and remaining standing rigging was inspected and found satisfactory. Start batteries were replaced in 2023, with fresh generator batteries and new genny service completed.
A Mantus anchor, new Eising glass, new sail bag, and a tender (2022 AB with 25 hp Suzuki outboard) complete the package. The water maker is inoperable. This catamaran is ready for island cruising.
