This 2012 Beneteau Oceanis 40 is a 40-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat with a proven design for blue-water capability. The yacht has spent its entire life in fresh water. It carries a single Yanmar diesel engine producing 54 horsepower with just 253 hours of operation, paired with a spare three-blade bronze propeller that has been repitched. The boat is rigged with in-mast roller furling on both mainsail and headsail, a furling cruising spinnaker, and three two-speed winches plus an electric halyards winch, allowing single-handed sailing from the large twin-wheel cockpit where all sail controls are positioned for convenient handling.
The interior centers on a bright salon lined with Moabi hardwood cabinetry and ocean-blue Beneteau leather upholstery. Large windows flood the space with natural light, fitted with accordion-style and light-blocking coverings. The L-shaped dinette converts to a bed, and a 32-inch Toshiba television with DVD player is mounted nearby. The galley runs along the port side with ample counter space, a gimballed two-burner propane stove, microwave, double stainless steel sink, and a 12-volt refrigerator with freezer. A navigation desk occupies the forward section, outfitted with marine electronics controls and storage.
Three cabins provide accommodation throughout. The forward master cabin features a queen bed with upgraded memory foam and Egyptian cotton sheets, dual hanging lockers, a vanity with mirror, and generous under-bed storage. Two stern cabins—one on each side—offer large mattresses, hull windows with screens and shades, hanging lockers, and direct access to one of two heads. Both heads include separate shower cubicles with doors, electric flush toilets, and stainless steel fixtures. The boat's house battery bank comprises two 280-amp-hour lithium batteries with Bluetooth monitoring, backed by a 2000-watt pure sine inverter and three-channel charger. A Wabasto diesel heater and reverse-cycle air conditioning serve climate control. The cockpit features teak louvered doors, a teak bathing platform with swim ladder, shore power connection, and twin lazarettes for storage. An unreinstalled Raymarine radar is included with the sale.
