The Hanse 445 is a 44-foot cruising sailboat built in 2012 by Hanse Yachts in Germany and designed by Judel/Vroljik & Co. The hull and deck are composite, with a teak cockpit and dual wheel steering. The boat features a long fin keel with bulb and draws 7 feet 5 inches. Power comes from a 75 hp Volvo Penta D2 diesel saildrive with fixed propeller, supplemented by a bow thruster for close-quarters maneuvering.
The interior is laid out as an owners' version with three double cabins and the possibility of two additional berths in the saloon. Two electric heads serve the accommodations, along with showers, a holding tank, air conditioning and heating throughout, a watermaker, and a hot water system. The galley and saloon are well-appointed for extended cruising.
The yacht is extensively equipped for self-sufficient voyaging. Power systems include a generator, six batteries, a charger, and a new Victron Energy Multiplus 2000 inverter installed in 2024. Solar panels rated at 1050 watts are mounted on a stainless steel arch, which also carries dinghy davits. A new 100-meter chain and 30 kg Mantus anchor with electric windlass were installed in 2024. Additional features include shore power, a sprayhood, bimini, bathing platform with swim ladder, deck shower, navigation and underwater lights, cockpit table and speakers, gangway, heating, radio, a 6-person life raft, and an EPIRB.
