2012 J Boats J/111

This 2012 J/111 is a 37-foot racing-focused sailboat built on a fiberglass hull with a Volvo D1-20 diesel engine of 19 horsepower. The boat features a carbon mast from Hall Spars mounted directly on the keel, a retractable carbon boom with dyneema under-boom for asymmetric spinnakers, and an aluminum wheel-steered helm with recently replaced bearings. The standing rigging is rod (replaced February 2022), with a dual-groove Tasker forestay updated in 2024. The boat carries an extensive modern sail wardrobe including multiple main sails from North and Quantun, jibs, genoas, storm jibs, Code 0, and asymmetric sails, most in very good condition and some recently acquired.

Accommodation includes two cabins with an additional bunk in the starboard aft locker measuring 1.80m by 1.40m. The saloon has anti-roll canvas and protective covers for the woodwork. Equipment includes a two-burner galley with oven and a 12-volt refrigeration unit. The boat is fitted with an Eberspacher heating system and shore power connection with 15-meter cable.

Electronics have been completely renewed in 2024–2025 with a B&G system featuring a Zeus 12-inch display, in-board autopilot, Triton 12-inch repeater on the mast, B&G Nemesis wind station, Zg 100 GPS antenna, and speed/depth transducer. Navigation includes Ireland, England, and France chart coverage. VHF with cockpit speaker, Ocean Signal distress beacon, and Triton compass repeater complete the setup.

Power systems include dedicated engine and lithium 200 Ah service batteries (both 2025) with Victron battery management. The hull has been prepared and maintained for racing with annual maintenance involving sanding and Speedy Carbonium treatment. A 6-person Transocean Plastimo liferaft was serviced in 2024. The sail drive was resealed in 2025. Safety equipment includes 9 auto-inflating life jackets, hand flares, and a Guardian anchor with 25-meter rode.
