2013 Africat Marine AfriCat PowerCat Sportfisher

This 2013 Africat PowerCat Sportfisher is a 42-foot fiberglass catamaran built for sport fishing and serious offshore cruising. Powered by twin Volvo diesel engines producing 870 horsepower, it delivers a cruising speed of 23 knots and a maximum speed of 25 knots. The catamaran design provides exceptional stability and sea-keeping characteristics, with a 22-foot beam creating generous internal volume and deck space.

The three-stateroom layout places the owner's quarters to starboard, with two additional staterooms to port sharing a head and separate shower. The expansive aft deck is suited for sport fishing and water activities, featuring a large bait well with room to accommodate a fighting chair if desired. A hinged electronics tower reduces bridge clearance to 18 feet when needed.

The boat has undergone a substantial refit that includes new pod drive units and transmissions, a new 11.5 kW generator, and a new flybridge enclosure. Electronics were recently updated with multiple Garmin stations, newer TracVision system, and a newer ice maker. Throughout-deck lighting was upgraded to LED, eight gel-cell batteries were replaced, and bilge and fuel transfer pumps were upgraded.

Equipment includes joystick control for the drive system. The boat is fitted with recent electronics, a newer ice maker, and comprehensive systems updated during the recent refit work.
