The 2013 Catalina 385 is a 38-foot fiberglass sloop designed for comfortable cruising and extended offshore passages. Powered by a 40-horsepower Yammer diesel engine, the boat carries a shoal-draft wing keel and features an in-mast mainsail furling system suited to single-handed operation. A bow thruster aids maneuverability, while the mast is designed to meet Intracoastal Waterway height restrictions.
This boat is equipped for self-sufficient cruising. Solar panels (415 watts) and a watermaker support extended periods away from shore power. The Dometic air conditioning and heating system, bow thruster, and electric winch reduce the physical demands of boat handling. A Rocna anchor, dodger, and full cockpit enclosure provide security and weather protection. Auxiliary systems include an Iridium satellite communicator with external antenna for offshore communication.
The dinghy setup comprises a tender with electric motor and davits for convenient launching and retrieval. A new heat exchanger on the engine was installed. The folding wheel preserves cockpit space, and the full enclosure extends the usable season. As a second-owner boat, it has been maintained and is ready for cruising.
