The 2013 Devlin Onyx is a 27'10" sailing yacht designed and built by Sam Devlin. Built to Devlin's construction standards and launched in August 2013, the boat features a composite hull with an 8'6" beam and 4'6" draft. She carries a carbon fiber mast and boom, with sails from Ballard that were serviced and checked in 2023. The foresail is roller furled and includes a cover.
The Yanmar diesel engine produces 20 horsepower and has logged 442 hours. Regular annual maintenance has been performed on the oil, filters, and impeller; the starter was replaced in May 2025. The engine features a freshwater flush system used after every outing. Electronics include Lowrance navigation gear. A tiller lock is fitted.
Below deck, the boat offers hot and cold water, a fresh water flush head with an RV shower, and a galley with a single burner butane stove and sink. A Dickenson solid fuel stove provides heating. A highly insulated ice chest provides cold storage, and large cockpit lockers offer additional space. Batteries were replaced in 2022.
Safety equipment is comprehensive and includes four fire extinguishers, an automatic fire suppression system in the engine compartment, a 6-man rescue raft (2018), throwable life ring, web ladder, hand-held light, and horn. The boat comes with a complete cover, six large fenders, and mooring lines. A triple-axle trailer for storage and transport is included. The hull was bottom painted in 2025 and the boat is hauled annually in October, launching again in April, with winter storage indoors.
