The 2013 Hinckley Talaria 34 is a composite downeast cruiser built to bridge elegant simplicity with capable performance. Powered by twin 260-hp Yammer diesel engines driving Hamilton Jet water jets, she cruises at 25 knots and reaches 29 knots at top speed. The JetStick II integrated control system handles throttle, steering, and bow thruster from a single joystick with heading-hold capability, while shallow draft and jet propulsion open access to coastal bays and harbors. Her construction uses Hinckley's DualGuard Plus composite layup with aramid and carbon fiber reinforcement, finished in flag blue Awlgrip topsides with cream cabin house and deck.
The layout centers on a generous pilothouse with four oversize frameless windows and drop curtains, providing commanding sightlines while maintaining weather protection. Aft, the cockpit features forward and aft-facing seating, a transom door to the swim platform, and a built-in cooler. Below, the interior flows from the pilothouse through a galley to port, head to starboard, and forward V-berth cabin. Cherry and teak finishes throughout complement stainless steel hardware and fresh-water systems. The single cabin sleeps two with a removable V-berth insert; the galley includes a refrigerator, electric stove, and microwave, while the head provides a shower and holding tank.
Equipment reflects serious cruising capability: twin AGM battery banks with dual 150-amp alternators, a Victron pure sine wave inverter, and a Raymarine e125 multifunction display with autopilot and networked instruments. Navigation includes 4kw radar, GPS, and remote spotlight. A proportional hydraulic bow thruster, trim tabs, and full mooring and ground tackle systems complete the package. Recent refurbishment includes reconditioned jet impellers and new 12-volt start batteries in 2024, plus a new mooring cover, house batteries, and new cockpit cover in 2022.
