The J/70 is a ramp-launchable keelboat designed for high performance one-design racing. At 22.75 feet with a beam of 7.42 feet, this fiberglass hull combines racing capability with stability suitable for family sailing. The boat launches and rigs easily and can be towed behind a standard vehicle, making it accessible for owners who want serious performance without the demands of a larger boat.
Hull #339 was built in 2013 and has been carefully maintained throughout its life. The bottom and appendages were faired by Chris Small in 2019. The boat carries a complete Doyle sail inventory, Southern Spars mast and boom, and upgraded running rigging by Sail22. Equipment includes a 2.3 HP outboard engine, Raymarine wireless Micronet Race Master with solar panel and through-hull paddle wheel, Velocitek, JCD carbon tiller extension, and Harken dock pads. A retractable spinnaker bag is fitted to the companionway, and the boat includes a cockpit line bag and water bottle storage.
The package includes a 2018 Triad Trailer fitted with bunk-style supports, brakes, and a spare tire, plus two fiberglass trailer boxes for gear storage. A keel crane, lifting straps, and all class-required gear are included. The boat holds a Class Measurement Certificate and includes covers as detailed in the specifications.
