2013 J Boats J/70
About This Yacht
This 2013 J/70 is a lightweight one-design racing platform built on a fiberglass hull, equally suited to competitive sailing or daysailing with genuine performance. The boat spent its first seven years sailing exclusively in freshwater and has seen minimal use since, with no bottom paint applied. An 11-foot cockpit provides generous space for crew movement during tacking and jibing, while mid-height padded backrests running the cockpit length offer comfortable helming without reliance on hiking straps. A small cabin below delivers weather protection and a retreat for rest.
The boat comes equipped with dual sets of sails: a 2022 Quantum main and jib, plus a 2013 Quantum main, jib, and spinnaker. A Honda 2.3 hp outboard engine is mounted on the transom with convenient stowage, and a Triad trailer with hoist lifting straps and keel crane enables easy launching and retrieval. Covers for the top, bottom, mast, boom, and rudder protect the boat when not in use.
Recent updates include a 2022 replacement of the main halyard, spinnaker sheets, and tack line, along with a new tiller extension installed in 2025. The boat carries a Velocitek Prostart instrument for performance monitoring.
