The 2013 Lagoon 400 is a cruising catamaran built to the proven S2 design, which refined the model through owner feedback and Nauta Design consultation. At 40 feet with a 23.75-foot beam, it combines the spaciousness characteristic of the Lagoon line with catamaran stability and efficiency. Twin 80-horsepower Yammer diesel engines provide reliable propulsion.
The boat sleeps eight across four double cabins, each with a double berth. Four heads serve the accommodations. The main deck unites the cockpit and salon on a single level, with vertical glazing overhead for natural light and headroom. The salon features a redesigned layout with grey oak cabinetry and laminate flooring. Sleeping berths have been widened for additional comfort.
Construction employs infusion molding to reduce weight without sacrificing structural integrity, paired with sustainable Alpi reconstituted wood throughout the interior. A gull-wing bridge deck design improves seaworthiness in heavy conditions. The hull is fiberglass. The design, credited to VPLP, emphasizes sailing performance alongside cruising capability.
