2013 Ranger Tugs R-27

The 2013 Ranger Tugs R-27 is a trailerable coastal cruiser built on a fiberglass hull with classic tug styling and shallow-draft design. At 27 feet long with an 8.5-foot beam and just 2'2" draft, she combines efficient single-engine propulsion with capable seakeeping. Power comes from a Yanmar 4BY2 diesel producing 180 horsepower, with only 650 hours on the engine. Bow and stern thrusters, trim tabs, and a swim platform with rails enhance maneuverability and convenience.

The interior accommodates cruising comfort with a forward V-berth sleeping two, an amidships office with desk and chair that converts to an additional berthspace, and a dinette that converts as well. The galley to starboard holds a Nova Kool refrigerator with freezer section, Seaward LPG stove and oven, Haier microwave, and inverter support. A stand-up head with shower sits aft of the galley. Cabin air conditioning and cabin sole of teak-and-holly add refinement throughout.

Navigation and systems are comprehensive. Garmin electronics include a GPSmap 5212 touchscreen display with depth sounder, radar dome scanner, VHF radio, and GHC10 autopilot. Onboard power management features a TruePower 1500 inverter, ProMariner battery charger, solar panel with controller, and four AGM batteries including two house batteries installed in 2024. A Lewmar power windlass with Rocna anchor, 50 feet of chain, and 200 feet of rode handles ground tackle.

Recent upgrades include the Lewmar windlass installed in 2023 and a full Sunbrella cockpit enclosure with bimini top and side screens completed in 2024 by Genco. A tandem-axle aluminum trailer is included.
