This 2014 Back Cove 30 is a fiberglass downeast cruiser combining classic Maine boat-building design with modern marine engineering. The hull features a traditional spoon bow and gently sloped transom paired with a deep-vee bottom and resin infusion construction. Powered by a 320-horsepower Yanmar six-cylinder diesel, she reaches a top speed of 25 knots and cruises at 20 knots. Standard equipment includes electric trim tabs, bow and stern thrusters for enhanced docking control, and a delta plow anchor with 100 feet of chain and 125 feet of nylon rode.
The layout below deck centers on comfortable, accessible cruising spaces. The bridgedeck features a starboard settee with table and a port settee that converts to an additional berth, with storage beneath both and sun screens fitted to all windows. The forward stateroom holds a V-berth with cushions and removable table, along with a head featuring a Corian countertop, electric flush toilet, and shower sump. The galley is equipped with a stainless steel sink, single-burner Kenyon electric/alcohol cooktop, Dometic refrigeration, and microwave.
Navigation and communication systems include a Garmin GPS/chartplotter with updated charts, Garmin GMR radar, AIS, and VHF radio. The mechanical package incorporates a dripless shaft seal, Racor filtration, Sea Star hydraulic steering, and dual Rule Mate 1,600-GPH bilge pumps with high-water alarms. Dual AGM batteries were installed in 2022, and the boat carries a Wabasto diesel furnace and 30-amp shore power inlet.
The topsides were repainted in 2022 with four coats of polyurethane, and the engine was recently serviced. Soft goods and cushions throughout remain in excellent condition. A Zodiac dinghy with outboard and Weaver lift system are available.
