The 2014 DeFever 52 Euro Pilothouse is a fiberglass-hulled cruiser built for extended offshore passages. Twin 300 hp John Deere diesel engines deliver economical power with a cruising speed of 9 knots and a range suited to long-distance voyaging. The boat features engine-driven Gyro Gale 4 fin stabilizers, a full keel, and a heavy-duty running gear package designed for open water capability.
The layout comprises two cabins and two heads with en suite showers. The pilothouse accommodates dual helm stations with Pompanette Platinum seats. A Portuguese bridge and molded Euro transom with swim platform support the boat's seagoing design.
Recent improvements span 2021 through 2024 and include side power bow and stern thrusters with variable speed, a Westerbeke 12.5kW generator, a new water maker producing 37 gallons per hour, and lithium battery banks with a 3000-watt Victron inverter and charger system. Navigation electronics comprise dual Garmin 8212 touchscreen displays, AIS, and backup cameras. A new tender with 30hp Suzuki and davit complete the deck gear. The boat received a fresh bottom job and zincs in April 2024 and carries new EPIRBs and life raft certification.
