This 2014 Mako 18 LTS is a shallow-water flats boat built on Mako's Rapid Planing System (RPS) transom design, which allows it to get on plane in minimal depth—as little as 24 inches—while maintaining excellent top-end speed and handling. The tunnel hull with 11-inch draft and 20-degree deadrise supports fishing in skinny water while delivering a smooth, dry ride. The boat is powered by a Mercury 90 HP Optimax 2-stroke outboard with 700 hours of regular, documented maintenance.
The layout centers on a console setup ideal for flats fishing. Raised fore and aft casting decks with watertight storage compartments provide workspace, while the forward console seat houses an 18-gallon aerated baitwell. Custom bucket helm seats accommodate a 72-quart cooler underneath. Vertical rod holders, grab rails, and plentiful storage throughout the boat suit working anglers. Non-skid surfaces and a self-draining deck complete the fishing-focused design. The 33-gallon fuel capacity supports extended days on the water.
The boat carries extensive electronics and shallow-water gear. Equipment includes a Simrad Go9 chartplotter and depthfinder with transponder, dual MinnKota power pole anchors with wireless remotes, a MinnKota Terrova 24-volt trolling motor with remote and upgraded lithium batteries, and a MinnKota 2-bank onboard charger. Mercury Vesselview wireless connectivity streams engine data, fuel status, and system information to a phone in real time. A jackplate, BayStar hydraulic tilt steering, and keel guard round out the drivetrain. The boat comes with an aluminum single-axle trailer featuring a recently replaced torsion axle.
The hull is 100 percent fiberglass composite with full encapsulation of the transom, and the hull-to-deck assembly is completely bonded and lined. A removable windscreen, stainless steel steering wheel, and stainless cleats and hardware complete the package.
