2015 Amel 55

The Amel 55 is a composite-hulled bluewater cruiser built for extended passagemaking with reduced crew requirements. Its center cockpit sits beneath a fixed hardtop, providing weather protection and clear sightlines. Electric furling systems and thoughtfully positioned controls allow single-handed or two-person operation of all sails. The hull design incorporates a semi-long keel and lead ballast for stability and tracking in a range of sea conditions.

Below deck, the interior balances comfort with practical cruising needs. The saloon offers generous seating around a dining table, with panoramic windows supplying natural light throughout. Three cabins and three heads serve the accommodation requirements, with finishes and detailing reflecting Amel's building standards. A Cummins Onan 11kW generator supplies onboard power.

A single Volvo Penta diesel engine of 80 horsepower delivers a cruising speed of 8 knots at 1600 RPM and a maximum speed of 10 knots. Fuel capacity stands at 1000 liters; fresh water storage is 800 liters. Navigation and safety equipment includes Furuno radar, GPS chartplotter, and autopilot systems.
