This 2015 Catana Bali 4.5 is a 44-foot performance cruising catamaran built in France by Catana Yachts to a design by Olivier Poncin and Xavier Fay. The hull is fiberglass sandwich construction, built using closed-cell PVC foam and infusion techniques for rigidity and weight reduction. Twin Nanni 50 hp diesel engines power the boat, which achieves cruising speeds up to 13 knots and carries an upgraded carbon sail wardrobe with a high sail-to-weight ratio typical of the Catana line.
The interior offers four cabins and four heads arranged around a spacious saloon with large retractable windows and panoramic views. The main deck includes a flybridge helm station with Bimini, and the aft deck features davits and fold-down tender stowage. Key systems include an Onan 11 kw generator, twin inverters, Raymarine navigation with twin Axiom plotters, a reverse-osmosis watermaker producing approximately 80 liters per hour, and reverse-cycle air conditioning.
Between 2021 and 2026, the boat underwent a comprehensive refit. Work included major engine overhauls, replacement of both sail drives, new carbon sails with UV protection, new Millennium Sails mainsail, complete electrical system overhaul, refreshed bathroom suites, new galley induction cooktop and oven, hull polishing and fresh antifouling, new enclosure awnings, new tender with Mercury 20 hp outboard, full interior refurbishment with new upholstery and mattresses, and extensive new equipment including LED lighting throughout, new safety systems, Starlink antenna, and updated navigation and communication gear.
The boat is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, electric heads, Antal and Harken winches including electric primary, and twin inverters supporting extensive 220v systems. A 6 kva lithium-ion power pack, solar panels, and AGM service batteries support extended cruising autonomy.
